Greetings @truly123

Welcome to the HP Forum.

It's tough to check HP PC specs at this time using HP Support. So the following thoughts are rough estimates.

A Ryzen 5300G can draw, up to, about 88 watts. An eight pin, RX 5500 OEM graphics card, per this Site, has a TDP 0f 110 watts.

The two components can draw, up to, about 200 watts when both components are being heavily used. So you have, at minimum, about 110 watts to power all other components.

This is a very conservative estimate. So, the PC would usually have more free wattage to power other components since the CPU and graphics card will not run at the maximum wattage all of the time.

But, I would not try to power a much higher wattage eight pin graphics card on a 310 watt power supply.

What specific eight pin graphics card upgrade are you looking at?

We can check the card's TDP to see if the HP 310 watt power supply is a good fit.

The RX 6600 PowerColor Fighter requires a 300 watt PSU having one eight pin PCIe power connector to the card.

The 6600 will work if your PC's PSU has an eight pin power connector.
