Hi @BengaluruCoder,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for reporting the issue with your HP Laptop 15s-fq5xxx. If the side light is blinking rapidly and the screen is flashing or remains blank, this typically indicates a hardware-level fault or power issue. Here's how to troubleshoot it:

1. Identify the Blink Pattern

  • Count the number of blinks in a sequence (e.g., 3 blinks, pause, repeat).
  • HP uses blink codes to indicate specific hardware issues (e.g., memory, CPU, BIOS).

Let me know the exact blink count if you can observe it.

2. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Disconnect the charger and any peripherals.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15–20 seconds.
  • Reconnect the charger directly to a wall outlet and try powering on.

3. Check for Display Issues

  • Shine a flashlight at an angle on the screen. If you see a faint image, the backlight may be faulty.
  • Try connecting to an external monitor via HDMI to check if the laptop is booting, but the screen is not displaying.

4. BIOS Restore:

1) Shut down the computer, keep the charger plugged in

2) Hold down the Windows and B buttons together while the computer is still turned off.

3) Turn on the computer and continue to hold the Windows and B buttons until a BIOS Recovery screen appears.

4) Follow the on-screen instructions and click on OK.

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
