Your computer settings are managed by your IT Administrator...thats why you cant see the antivirus options...

I dont understand what is your issue? can you please explain!

I wish to use microsoft antnvirus with it marked NO someway (not by me) it won't let turn on ms antivirus.

I have not found away to get into the "organization" to  remove the block.

From your description, it sounds like this PC was furnised to you by your "organization".

Also, most organizations have volume agreements with specific AV vendors -- and that AV is what they install and want you to use, NOT what you want to use.

If that is the case, then the best advice is LEAVE IT ALONE!

Work-provided PCs are generally LOCKED by IT organizations to prevent just the kind of stuff you are trying to do.

Last time I had one of these PCs, it was a TERMINATION offense to attempt what you are doing.

Except they are giving you the pc for good...and you wont connect it at work again...then you can wipe and reinstall everything.But untill than...leave it as it is...as those settings have a good purpose: to not let you alterate the settings so they have more work to do 🙂

You make good points -- but the OP claims his organization won't let him change the AV -- so to me, that sounds like he's using a "loaner" from his company, and that makes it THEIR PC, not his PC.

And as long as the pc is a "loaner" I dont understand why is so important to use MS AV....or any other ....

in case something happends...he can just turn it over to the it dept...in his company 🙂

I bought Refurbished from HP. Do you think they would have corrrected this problem.

So this is your computer after all...well in that case you can follow this steps here:

1. Open Start.
2. Search for gpedit.msc and click the top result to open the Local Group Policy Editor.

3. Browse the following path:

   Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Defender Antivirus

4. Double-click the Turn off Windows Defender Antivirus policy

5. Select the Disable option to enable Windows Defender Antivirus.

6. Click the Apply button.Click the OK button.Restart your device.

If these steps dont turn on the Microsoft AV...the do a RESET of your Windows and start Fresh!
