my recovery disc for my omni 27 1210xt is not working. i made it as instructed by hp on a cd/dvd when I purchased the computer. How can I get a recovery disk that will work.
im not sure of the original OS was 8 then upgraded to 8.1 64 Bit. I did upgraded to Windows 10.

If you want to reinstall W10...
You can do a clean install of W10 by using the Media creation tool at the link below, which will either make a USB installation flash drive, or a ISO file you can burn to a DVD to reinstall windows 10.

Since you previously upgraded the PC from 8.1 to W10, when you get to the part of the installation script where you are asked to enter a product key, you select the 'I don't have a product key' option, and W10 will install and automatically activate once you are reconnected to the internet.
Then go to your PC's support page to install the drivers and available software.
If you want W8 back on the PC, you can order recovery media from this non-HP vendor at the link below...

You're very welcome.
You don't need to buy W8 again to install W10.
Just install the new hard drive and install W10 using the info I posted above.
You should be able to find a replacement hard drive on Amazon or any consumer electronics store.

It looks like from the illustration in the manual that you need to replace it with a 3.5" desktop PC hard drive.
