HP ENVY All-in-One - 32-a1078a

I have an HP envy which keeps dropping wifi

It run network adapter  Realtek RTL8822CE 802.11ac PCIe . this problem has  been for a long time . Sometimes it is fixed by restarting the adapter, sometimes requires reinstall the adapter, sometimes requires restart computer, Sometimes requires disconnect power and hold on switch for 20 sec before restart sometimes this plus ordinary restart.

Sometimes the adapter has disappeared when I look with device manager, The problem occurs at any time both from sleeping state and during use. I have seen the odd reference to a similar problem and suspect it is a hardware problem possibly requiring a card replacement.

Does anyone have any similar experience of problems or repair

Try updating the Wi-Fi driver to the latest version HP has for that model Wi-Fi adapter:

Realtek RTL8xxx Wireless LAN Drivers

Version 2024.10.230.2

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp157001-157500/sp157102.exe

If that doesn't resolve the problem to and you want to attempt to replace the internal Wi-Fi card, then I recommend this model.

Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 ax 2×2 + Bluetooth 5.0 MU-MIMO M.2 2230 non-vPro   HP part # L35282-005.

Below is the link to the service teardown video.

It does not look easy to replace the Wi-Fi card.

I would be using a USB Wi-Fi adapter before trying to take that PC apart.

Thanks Paul. Reinstalling the driver did not help. I decided not to replace the internal network adapter as I could not source the tension releasing tapes that secure the back and the store advised that there may be issues with the adapter relating to country compatibility. I bought a USB wireless adapter which seems to be working well and is stable
