network check

I recently downloaded HP network check.

It was supposed to make using google chrome esier, but all it does is to display message pages telling me that there is a web connection error when ther is no problem at all.

How do I remove this annoying network check program ??

In Windows 7:

* Click the Windows "start" button

* Click "Control Panel"

* Click "Add or Remove Programs"

* Click on the program to be removed

* Click on "uninstall"

In Windows 10, it's similar:

* Click the Windows "start" button

* Click the "toothed-wheel" ("Settings")

* Click "Programs"

* Click "Uninstall a program"

* Click on the program to be removed

* Click on "uninstall".

By the way, let's "troubleshoot" the original problem.

Tell us a little more about your setup:

* Windows 7 or 8 or 8.1 or 10 ?

* Computer is directly-connected to DSL-modem or cable-modem or to  your own wired/wireless router ?

* Your computer has the correct date/time ?

* Manufacturer and model-number of your router?

* Does your computer connected "wired" or "wirelessly" to the network ?

* If it is a laptop, does it "fail to connect" only on your "home" network, or when you're connected to "free WiFi" (Starbucks? Macdonald's ? University/college network) ?

Thanks, but that was the first thing that I did to try and remove this hp network check.

There were no programs installed into my computer anywhere near the date that it was installed and certainly no hp programs either.

So, maybe it is not a "program" it is something else.

All I know is that it makes trying to use my computer vertually impossible.

Can you use "System Restore" to "time-warp" your computer backwards to a date/time before you installed the program?

Another thought: check for "Manage Add-ons" (within Internet Explorer) and whatever similar name that Google Chrome uses for such "browser extensions".

Thanks but I have just got a computer expert to resolve my prolem.

It took him over an hour and a half and cost me $130.

But atleast it's fixed.

I believe its part of an application  so there would be no way to remove it by itself. You can disable it through internet options in the control panel under addons. Under programs tab then look for another tab that says manage addons. ive had it disabled running internet explorer and had no issues
