The spec page indicates that PC came with Windows 8.1. Is that still true or has it been upgraded to Windows 10?
Has the DVD/CD drive been used recently or did it work OK in the past?
Here is a troubleshooting guide, if Windows 10

I bought it used from a shop a few years back. Yes, it has Windows 10 in it. I never used the CD/ROM, and was not even aware it did not work until the other day, when I tried to play a disc of x-rays, b/c I fell down and broke my wrist. Wouldn't play it b/c, as I found out later, one must have special dr software to read it. So, I put in an audio CD and it would not do anything there either. I now figure it does not have needed software, or something in order to work. Guess I will just be w/o a gizmo to play discs.
