when i play certain games which my desktop should be able to run according to the recommendation the pc will either restart or the screen will just cut to black. im not sure why this happens i have made sure drivers are updated, checked the BIOS, made sure its not over heating and checked the power supply, i have also ran bench test for the gpu and cpu and both seem to be running fine. i have check anti virus and nothing has came up and my memory isnt full and i have around 1.53T on D drive and 236GB on C SSD. If anyone knows a fix or any idea what the problem could be please let me know.

Greetings @tom956
Welcome to the HP Forum.
Your PC problem is a riddle wrapped in an enigma if you cannot replicate the error while running: CPU and GPU stress tests.
What stress tests did you run?
System restarts and video dropouts (but the PC continues to run) usually suggest some type of power delivery problem to a specific component or a component hardware problem.
High level power problems to the CPU or the MB could cause a complete shutdown.
A total system shutdown could indicate a thermal problem in addition to power problems and component problems.
Are you overclocking system RAM? Go back to JEDEC speed and timings to see what happens.
I use OCCT free on all new PC builds to test system stability.
It also doesn't hurt to check system files.
Open an Admin command prompt as follows:
Open Search then enter "command prompt". Right-click on the search result.
Select "Run as Administrator".
Enter the following commands, one at a time. Wait for each command to complete before running the next command.
DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth note: the PC must be connected to the network when using the DISM command.
Enter the next command to verify system files are okay.
sfc /scannow
Have you tried HP Diagnostics at system startup?
