Hi @manveerrana,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP ENVY 13 laptop is not connecting to your HP Pen, here's how you can troubleshoot the issue.
Check Compatibility
- Verify that your HP Pen is compatible with the HP ENVY 13 laptop. Some HP laptops support only specific active pens. Check your laptop's product manual or HP's website for compatibility information.
Ensure the Pen is Powered On
- Confirm that the pen has a functioning battery. Replace the battery if necessary. If it uses a rechargeable battery, make sure it is fully charged.
Enable Bluetooth (if applicable)
- If your pen requires Bluetooth pairing:
- Turn on Bluetooth on your laptop:
- Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices and ensure Bluetooth is toggled on.
- Hold the pairing button on the pen (usually near the top or on the side) until the LED indicator starts flashing.
- On your laptop, click Add device and select your pen from the list.
- Turn on Bluetooth on your laptop:
Update Drivers
- Ensure your laptop has the latest drivers for pen input and Bluetooth:
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Human Interface Devices and look for entries like "HID-compliant pen" or "HP Active Pen."
- Right-click and select Update driver.
- Update the Bluetooth driver under Bluetooth in Device Manager.
Check Windows Ink Workspace
- Go to Settings > Devices > Pen & Windows Ink and ensure pen features are enabled. Test if the pen works in Windows Ink Workspace apps like Sticky Notes or Sketchpad.
Reboot and Reconnect
- Restart your laptop and attempt to reconnect the pen following the steps above.
Reset the Pen
- If your pen has a reset button or combination, refer to its manual and perform a reset.

Test the Pen on Another Device
- If possible, test the pen on a different compatible device to rule out hardware issues with the pen.
Check for Software Conflicts
- Some third-party software can interfere with pen functionality. Temporarily disable or uninstall any apps that might manage input devices.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
