@50blue

Thank you for contacting the HP Support Community. We appreciate you reaching out and are happy to assist.

We’re happy to help you with this. However, as the specific model number hasn’t been shared yet, we’re currently able to provide only general troubleshooting steps.

  1. Check Power Settings:

    • Open "Settings" and go to "System" > "Power & sleep".
    • Ensure that the settings for "Screen" and "Sleep" are set according to your preferences.
  2. Update Windows:

    • Make sure your Windows 11 is up to date. Open "Settings" > "Windows Update" and click "Check for updates".
  3. Update Device Drivers:

    • Go to "Device Manager" and update drivers, especially for Display Adapter and Power Management components.
  4. Check Power Plan Settings:

    • Open "Control Panel" and navigate to "Hardware and Sound" > "Power Options".
    • Select your current power plan and click on "Change plan settings".
    • Ensure that the settings for "Turn off the display" and "Put the computer to sleep" are correct.
  5. Check for Background Applications:

    • Some apps may prevent sleep mode. Check your startup programs or applications running in the background that might interfere.
  6. Disable Wake Timers:

    • In "Power Options", find your power plan, click on "Change plan settings" > "Change advanced power settings".
    • Under "Sleep", find "Allow wake timers" and disable them.
  7. Run Troubleshooter:

    • Go to "Settings" > "System" > "Troubleshoot" > "Other troubleshooters" > "Power", and run the troubleshooter.

Please let us know the outcome after trying the suggested steps so we can support you further if needed.

Additionally, we request that you share a private message with the product details to help us assist you more accurately.
