Every time I start my computer, a pop-up called "HP System Information" appears. Three questions: Does the pop-up indicate a security or other problem with the computer? The pop-up includes an option to "Run System Diagnostics". Should I do that? And finally, how do I stop the pop-up from ever coming up again on start-up? Thanks.

Welcome to the HP Forum.

Is your PC working as expected except for this startup item?

1. I would say no. But it's unusual to see this every time you power on the PC.

2. HP system diagnostics would be useful if you are having a problem.

3. I would check this software for a system startup: on/ off option. Or check Startup items in Task Manager.

Again, it is unusual to see HP System Information as an auto startup item. I can't say how this item got into the Windows startup routine.

I would probably run Microsoft's "Autoruns" to see what may be causing this startup behavior.

Thanks for your reply! For some reason the pop-up stopped coming before I started to address the issue. If it happens again I'll return to your suggestions.

Greetings @SCDM

My pleasure.

Sounds good!

I guess HP System Information fixed itself.
