i have an hp pavilion all in one 23-q012 pc with an 4gb ram and i'm trying to upgrade it to an 8gb ram how do i go by doing that?

if you ask, maybe you're not very used to it..
this type of computer is quite fragile, so if you think it's too complicated, get help from a professional

  • Supports the following (based on processor):
    • A4-7210: up to PC3-12800 (DDR3-1600)
    • A6-7310: up to PC3-14900 (DDR3-1866)
    • A8-7410: up to PC3-14900 (DDR3-1866)
  • Supports 1 GB, 2 GB, 4 GB and 8 GB SODIMMs
  • Supports up to 4 GB on 32-bit systems
    note:

Upgrading and Servicing Guide

you can try with a new 4gb module, but it may not work with the one already in place
so if that's the case, you have to check if it works alone
if it works you will have to buy the same to have 8gb

or find an identical module
there it will be necessary to find the reference of the module in place, it can be quite difficult sometimes
