Hello, I just got a used hp pavilion 570-p050. The person who had this computer almost got scammed on it (that's why it was free) and i installed a new hard drive an ssd. i would like to know where I can buy or download the hp recovery cd of the iso or the cd. I am running windows 10. if there is a restore cd for ubuntu or linux mint that would be great too.

thanks,

Hi:

HP no longer provides recovery media for that model.

You can order a USB recovery drive for your PC from this vendor at the link below:

Computer Surgeons - Windows 10 64 Bit Recovery Kit 938565-006 For HP Desktop PC Model Number 570-p05...

You can also clean install W10 for free by making a bootable USB installation flash drive with the media creation tool from the link below:

Download Windows 10

While the PC doesn't meet Microsoft's minimum processor requirements to run W11, the good news is if you are interested in doing an in-place upgrade from W10>W11 you can, but you will have to use a workaround that bypasses the W11 hardware checks.

Watch this video for the easiest way that I know of to do an in-place upgrade from W10>W11 25H2:

How to Install Windows 11 25H2 on Unsupported PCs (New Easiest Method)

HP does not support the PC for any other operating system but Windows, so there would be no recovery media for Ubuntu or Linux mint from anyplace.

thanks. it had windows 11 on it so the processor must have been upgraded. i don't like windows 11 so i uninstalled it and will install linux mint or ubuntu on it at some point

interesting, it has not been upgraded. I did modify the windows 11 (this was before I downgraded) setup to bypass the prompt to sign in with Microsoft but not the processor, and it installed successfully, Weird. I did just put in the ssd from my laptop and it worked (my laptop was running windows 11 25h2) and when i did a clean install of windows 11 it worked. windows 11 is annoying so I downgraded. I will probably install linux mint or ubuntu or pay microsoft to support windows 10 until 2027.hpspecs.PNG
