my computer shut down and only is showing a black screen at startup. I do not have a recovery disk and cannot find a download for window7 system restore on the internet. HP website doesn't seem to offer me a download for this??
where can i get a download so that I can reinstall windows 7, or better yet, can i just install window 10? I have no access to any menus on the computer at startup. Pressing f8, f12, delete etc keys at startup do not work.

Hi:
The specs for your PC indicate that it came with W7 64 bit from HP.

HP no longer sells recovery media for your PC. They normally only sell recovery kits for about 3 years after the PC is released to market.
You have two options to reinstall W7.
1. Order a recovery kit from this vendor at the link below...
2. If you can read all 25 characters of the W7 product key on your PC's case, make your own W7 installation media.
Download the W7 Home Premium 64 bit ISO file from the link below, toward the bottom of the page.

Use the Microsoft tool that I zipped up and attached below that you will need to transfer the ISO file to a DVD or USB flash drive so that it is bootable, or you can use a different utility for this purpose such as Rufus.
After W7 has completed installing you can install the drivers and available software from your PC's support page.

W10: You cannot clean install W10 without buying it, and your PC is not supported for W10.
The onboard AMD Radeon 4200 graphics definitely won't work.
You would need to buy a cheap graphics card such as an AMD Radeon HD 6450 which you can find cheap on eBay.
The audio and wireless will probably not work, but there may be workarounds for that.
After you get W7 back up and running, you can still get the free upgrade to W10 by clicking on the blue Update Now button at the link below.
Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)
This link explains why that is still possible...
