hp desk top
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Backed up files to dvd before a windows 7 reinstallation.  Installation fine, upgraded to windows 10.  Was able to copy all backup files from dvd to desktop for data recovery except for the recovermgr exe file.

@favorite99,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

You will not be able to copy the recovery manager. When you upgrade the computer to Windows 10 the recovery partition stops working. However, if you have the recovery media for your computer and you can reinstall the operating system using the recovery media and it will also restore the recovery partition.

If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution. Your feedback counts!

Cheers!
