Greetings,
Welcome to the forum.
I am not a HP employee.
Try different USB ports.
You have two USB 3.0 ports on the left side of the chassis.
You have four USB 2.0 ports at the rear of the chassis.
I am wondering how you did an accidental operating system reset.
Are you using the HP provided mouse and keyboard?

I'm using a logitech mouse and the keyboard that came with the desktop. My mentally ill brother(not joking) I believe did it while I was gone to work! I have tried all ports for mouse and wireless keyboard reconnect yet still no response!

Hi Purdue1969,
Checking to see if you have BIOS mouse and keyboard support.
Try tapping "ESC" at boot to see if you can get to the HP Startup Menu.
Then select "F10".
Select "File".
Reset the BIOS to defaults, if possible, and exit to see if this helps.
Your brother may have caused more damage to the PC.
No ability to get to the BIOS suggests you may have to reset CMOS by removing the motherboard CR2032 battery.
This requires disassembling the PC to gain access to the motherboard.
I don't know what else could be causing this symptom other than USB controller failure on the motherboard. This also means both USB 2.0 and 3.0 controllers have failed at the same time which is highly unlikely.
Or both USB devices have failed simultaneously; highly unlikely but possible.

Hi,
I missed the obvious first remedy; initiate a new HP recovery or do a clean Windows 10 install.
You, most likely, have already lost data.
I hope you were backing up data.
It is also a good idea to create offline disk image backups to mitigate this unfortunate scenario.

So the mouse suddenly started working out of nowhere and had to use keyboard on screen! It's loading updates now for windows 10 etc... But still no keyboard response even after new battery replacement and unplugging the wireless adapter usb from the desktop and inserting it back in! I will keep you posted!
