Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

A recent Windows update failed and I had to use HP Recovery Manager to  restore my computer to factory settings. I saved my files to a set of DVD's before I started. I then proceeded to reinstall Windows 10 - 1809 successfully. When I restored my saved files from the DVD's, I am unable to access them in the format that I understand. Please help.

Greetings,

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

What software did you use to save files?

I backup files and data to external media manually. But I use disk imaging and cloning software such as Macrium Reflect free to back up disks.

You can expect to have data recovery problems when you use proprietary file and data backup software.

You have to check the backups before you need to use them.

Regards
