Hi @azzamderzi12345,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When your HP laptop is running slow, there are several steps you can take to try and improve its performance.

  • Check for Malware: Run a full system scan using antivirus software to make sure your laptop isn't infected with malware or viruses.
  • Close Unused Programs: Make sure you don’t have too many programs running simultaneously. Close any programs and browser tabs that you're not using.
  • Restart Your Laptop: Sometimes a simple restart can solve performance issues by clearing out temporary files and freeing up memory.
  • Update Software: Ensure your operating system and all drivers are up to date. Sometimes updates include performance improvements and bug fixes.
  • Free Up Disk Space: Delete unnecessary files and programs to free up disk space. You can use the Disk Cleanup tool on Windows to help with this.
  • Disable Startup Programs: Too many programs launching at startup can slow down your laptop's boot time and overall performance. Disable unnecessary startup programs using Task Manager (on Windows) or System Preferences (on macOS).
  • Increase RAM: If your laptop is older and you frequently run memory-intensive programs, consider upgrading your RAM (if possible) to improve performance.
  • Check for Resource-Hungry Applications: Use Task Manager (Windows) or Activity Monitor (macOS) to identify any applications that are using a lot of CPU, memory, or disk resources. Consider closing or uninstalling these applications if they're not essential.
  • Defragment Your Hard Drive: If you have a traditional hard drive (not an SSD), defragmenting it can sometimes help improve performance by organizing files more efficiently. However, this is less relevant for newer SSDs.

Start with these steps and see if they help improve the speed and responsiveness of your HP laptop.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
