I need to rollback the BIOS for my device from f50 to f47 as it was more stable, I downloaded the file sp140305.exe and copied the bin and sig files to a usb. I went into the System Diagnostic tool with F2 on the boot menu and selected Firmware Management. I then selected my usb and the bin file (both bin and sig files were in the same directory). However, i got an error saying that the signature file couldnt be read. I then booted back into windows and read the logs at /EFI/HP/SystemDiags/SystemDiags.log and saw the lines:
2024-12-11 11:12:46 Failed Reading BIOS Signature File \BIOS\0844C.s12
2024-12-11 11:12:46 New Bios Verify Signature Return Result not handled (Not Found)
2024-12-11 11:12:46 Verify Image signature: Bios Verify Signature Not Succeed (Not Found)
This suggests that the HP tool is looking for a .s12 file, not a .sig file.
I checked all the HP tools to find a s12 file, no luck. I even downloaded sp105879.exe which provides all the BIOS binaries (2019) and that had 0844C.sig, no s12. If anyone can help me with this issue it would be much appreciated.
