The sound has suddenly started because I think I've accidently clicked on something. How do I turn it off?

My computer has started making a noise when opening some emails and I want to turn the sound off.

having said that, is this your computer after all?

Can you be more specific about your problem
"My computer has started making a noise when opening some emails and I want to turn the sound off."
So you have this problem just with emails, or some other condition?
If it's just email, what program is used?
check this can be
With the microsoft mail app
click on settings at the bottom left

in the window that opens click on Notifications and deactivate the option "emit; a sound signal"
