Few things you should know, BEFORE you make that call.
First, HP Tech Support will not be providing support on Vista -- as that is what you checked in your thread header -- as that is way too old.
Second, HP Tech Support only provides free support to products that are still under the original warranty. You failed to say anything about your HP product, so if it is NOT under warranty, you will have to pay a fee UP FRONT to talk to them, and they might not then even talk with you as they don't generally support products out of warranty.
