Hello, I bought a MacBook Air (version 10.14.5), my problem is that with the printer HP DeskJet 2130 I can't print; the status of the printer is read on the Mac as inactive. The Mac and the printer are connected via a USB cable.
Could you tell me how I could make prints having a Mac.
I sorry if there are grammatical errors but I don't speak English very well

@Gaia28, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Do you have an Anti-virus program installed on your MAC?
Make sure the printer is ON and not in sleep mode. (Press any button on the printer to wake it up)
The USB cable used should not be longer than 3 meters and use of a USB hub is not recommended.
Connect the USB cable directly between the printer and the MAC.
The printer will work on a USB 2.0 port.
Check if the printer is detected by your MAC
- From the Apple menu, choose About This Mac.
- Click System Report.
- Under the Hardware heading on the left side of the System Information window, click USB.
USB 3 devices appear under USB 3.0 Bus, and USB 2 devices appear under USB 2.0 Bus. The printer should be under the USB 2.0 Bus.
Note: You can try connecting the cable to alternate USB port on your MAC and check if the printer is not detected.
Once the printer is detected, install the printer using Airprint driver
Please ensure that the printer is up to date with its firmware and Mac is up to date with its software. If you are unsure you may use the links below to update the printer firmware and Mac software:
1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.
3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.
4.) Click the plus sign, click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.
5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.
6.) Try to print.
Let me know how this goes.
