What happens if I reset my TPM data?

Hi @Sjdfn-T,

A warm welcome to the HP community. A good day to you. I have reviewed the post. I will be more than happy to assist you here. Excellent description of the issue. Kudos to you for that.

What If You Delete TPM?

all of your data might be lost! This is because TPM is a chip that STORES the cryptographic module (the set of hardware and software security function), which have access to the owner only.

So if the owner wants to reset the data, it will happen! Your data will be lost. That’s why you must have a backup or recovery plan also. Stick with us to know the details!

The TPM module is a security chip on your computer that stores certain information regarding your computer's security. If you've created any TPM security encryption and keys it will get erased when you press F1 to complete the recovery.

Otherwise, the default encryption gets overwritten, and it should work again. Please check this document https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security/information-protection/tpm/initialize-and-configur... (Troubleshoot the TPM) from Microsoft for more information in the regard. This should shed some light.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Good luck and keep me posted about the developments. If this helps, please mark this as an Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue and. Click theKudos/Thumbs Up" on the bottom right to sayThanks” for helping!
