Hello;
Thanks for the response, with your input, you are right about the tires on my car. The computer with the windows xp vista is now RETIRED,probably what i will do is keep the hard drive for extra storage/BACK UP, one can't have too much back ups.
I will go this weekend and get another one with windows 10 pro, which i know will work more efficiently.
Thanks Again,
I am sending you 5 THUMBS UP, and 5 KUDOS.

Any computer that was pre-installed with Windows XP is very old.
After 12 years of support, Microsoft terminated all support for Windows XP in April 2014.
MIcrosoft Vista was released in April 2007.
Support for Windows 7 will end in January 2020.
So, that computer's hardware probably was manufactured before April 2007 -- making it over ten years old.
Would you drive your automobile on ten-year-old tires (2007 to 2017), and then expect those tires to last another two years (now until January 2020) ? Not safe!
I recommend that you "retire" that computer, and buy something newer, running Windows 10.
If you are on a "budget", then, for example, in the USA, access www.BestBuy.com and do a search for "refurbished computer".
You will find computers for under $200 US -- this is less than the cost for a license for Windows 7 Professional!
These computers will be running Windows 10, and will work perfectly fine for E-mail and web-surfing and YouTube videos.

Hi
Most XP era PC's can run Windows 7.
I have upgraded many XP systems to Windows 7. The PC may not run well on Windows 7 if this PC was manufactured prior to 2006.
Please provide the product number of your PC so forum members can check the PC's specs.
You will have to purchase a Windows 7 Pro product key if you decide to upgrade this Windows XP era PC. Time is running out on getting this done.
I have recently purchased Windows 7 Pro product keys and discs on Amazon.
Purchasing a $200.00 PC may provide an unsatisfactory experience. You may be wasting your hard earned money by relying on incorrect information. Seriously, a bottom tier Intel processor could represent between 30% to 50% of the total cost of a $200.00 PC. Not good investment advice.
Purchasing a $200.00 PC, if you can find one, means you will be buying a replacement PC very soon because this new $200.00 PC will not live up to your expectations.
I would look at PC's in the $500.00 to $600.00 range for reasonable performance.

Hello; Thanks for the response and the information, taking your advice and going through what would be involved in upgrading i have decided to go to another computer with windows 10 pro already installed.
I think this would be the best way to go.
I think about 5 KUDOS for your assist. My problem/situation is solved.
