HP Pavilion All-in-One - 27-a227c

Hello:

Anyone can help me out, with support for Window 10 expiring in October, does anyone know if my HP Pavilion All-in-One - 27-a227c Product: Z5M13AA passes Microsoft requirement for the Windows 11 upgrade?

I will appreciate any input,

Thanks.

Hi:

Your PC's i7-7700T processor does not meet Microsoft's minimum W11 processor requirements of an Intel 8th generation or newer processor and your PCs motherboard does not support such an upgrade.

If you are happy with your PC, and if you are interested in installing W11 24H2 on your PC as is, watch this video, which is the easiest way to do it in my opinion, and I have tried many different ways to do this during the last 3 years.

How to Install Windows 11 on Unsupported PC in 2025 (New Easiest Method, No CMD)

Download the W24H2 ISO file and use that (3rd option).

Download Windows 11

You can download the free 7-Zip file utility from the link below. The top line is for 64 bit.

You'll have to repeat this procedure each October when Microsoft rolls out the new builds because a PC that does not meet Microsoft's minimum W11 hardware requirements will never automatically get the update to the next build.

Other than that, your PC will continue to get the monthly cumulative and other updates.

That's only a minor inconvenience to have continued OS support beyond October of 2025.

If things don't work right on W11, you have 10 days to easily go back to W10 as long as you don't delete the W1 upgrade files or the Windows.old folder.

Paul,

Thanks for the quick response. I take it that Microsoft will not be adding any older that 8th Gen processors to the approved list of CPU's.  It's a shame to have to buy a new pc to meet the qualifications for Windows 11.  Windows 12 rumoured to be released later this year may have it's own hardware requirements in order to accommodate the AI bandwagon...

Buying a new PC by October 2025 may not have all the required hardware needed for Windows 12.

Time will tell.

You're very welcome.

I have always hoped that Microsoft would relent and add the 7th gen core processors, and they considered it but then decided it was not going to happen.

I too, had a personal interest in that too, since I have a perfectly good Dell Optiplex 7050 MT business-class PC which has an i7-7700 processor.

I have been running W11 on it since it first came out in the Fall of 2021, and it works just fine on W11--maybe even a bit better than it did on W10.

I'm running W11 24H2 on every desktop and notebook PC I own but I had to leave 3 of them on W11 23H2 because Microsoft upped the processor requirements for 24H2--processors have to support SSE 4.2 and my older PC's with the Pentium Core 2 Duo dual and quad core processors don't meet that requirement.

Cheers,

Paul
