my present BIOS is AMI F-25 ( 06/25/2018 on this motherboard . upgrading to i7 7700 there appears to be 4 bios updates which one should I be using with a quick explanation on how to do it. thanks

Hi,
The correct BIOS update for a HP 870-224 product is obtained here (Link). You may not need this update if your PC is working fine. HP lists the 7700 as a viable, out of the box, hardware upgrade at this site (Link).
Download this update. Run the executable file located in your preferred download location on the disk while the PC is idle.
Don't shut down the PC during the update. A loss of power during the update could break the motherboard.
BIOS updates are safe unless you interrupt the update or you lose power during the update.
Follow prompts to complete the BIOS update. You may have to restart the PC or the PC may auto restart. Be patient, let the update complete.
