Hi David, thank youfor your reply. The URL is :http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-p2-1100-Desktop-PC-series/5187. When you access the page, you will see the various categories I originally mentioned, and you will see a link for details for each download. It is those details link that will not work when I click on them.
But, if I use the browser I.E., they will work. So, the browser Firefox has a problem. Do you know what it may be, David? If so, how can I repair it so it works properly with the URL I am trying to access?
Also, do you recommend I dowload those downloads for that HP page, David? Can it hurt my system? Can you please explain the good and possibly bad effects of doing so? Thank you, David.

Hi,
I personally use Chrome for Browsing. However I would try reseting Firefox to original settings and see if it changes the problem.
OK, let us look at the drivers on the download page for your system. I always tend to say if everything works well to leave the system as it is. Have you reinstalled windows and is this why you want to reinstall drivers? This is where I am looking at drivers (windows 7 64-bit):
So the first two drivers are USB 3.0 host controllers to enable usb 3.0 on your PC. You should install these drivers.
Under heading original-driver, all 4 should be installed and updated if possible One is for graphics, network, storage and high definition audio. (you can always go to device manger and see if there are already drivers installed for these devices).
The rest of drivers on page and software are not really necessary and can be installed if you think you need them. If you go into device manager and look at the name of your dvd-rom, you could update the firmware for this device. Choose the right firmware for your dvd writer.
Hope it helps,
David

Hi David, thank you for your reply. The web address is the same one I am using for the HP downloads, and the same one I mentioned originally. I am very hesitant to use Firefox reset. It is sort of problematic, and even the Firefox help contributors actually discourage its use.
I will very carefully take your advice and look at device manager to see what is already installed. What do the numbers in parenthesis, next to the downloads mean, David?
I will take your advice and get back to you about what transpires afterwards. Thank you David for your help and patience.
