Thanks for replying, but....

have spent hours with HP Support in Bangalore, India, who say that the pop-up has occurred because of a security clash (Wolf security) & they have taken charge of my machine & uninstalled all non microsoft software, yet STILL cannot solve it. Because this machine is by now 10 days over the 30 days send-it-back- for my money back, they're now offering a "4 to 5 hour" phone call in which whey will apparently walk me thru wiping & then replacing the entire operating system. HP are clearly a dreadful company, who will do anything but give you your money back. I am at my wits end - how can you accept a machine on which you can only load microsoft software which wretched Wolf Security accepts?....but thanks for at least responding.

Thanks for replying @CHnow

I can hear the frustration in your words, and I’m truly sorry you’ve had to spend so much time already without getting the resolution you expected. It’s very discouraging when a new machine starts showing disruptive pop‑ups and the fixes you’ve tried don’t seem to make a difference.

If you’d like, I can help walk you through some practical steps to check the system settings and security configuration so you don’t feel stuck waiting for a long call. For example, we can look at how to adjust startup programs, confirm whether Wolf Security is conflicting with other services, or explore whether a clean reinstall is really necessary.

At the same time, if you prefer direct assistance, the HP phone support team in your region remains the right channel to guide you through operating system reinstallation or deeper fixes. You can reach them here: HP Contact Support.

Would you like me to outline some immediate steps you can try on your own to reduce or stop the pop‑ups before you commit to a full system wipe?

Thank you for your response, but after spending hours, no, days, to & fro-ing with Romel Menenzes of HP's Help team in Bangalor, India, HP finally concluded that it wasn't rogue but was caused by a clash with the dreaded Wolfe Security and certain non-microsoft apps I had installed (very few, as it happened). Romel was very patient & having taken over my machine & uninstalled various apps, the thing felt stable BUT he then did offer to spend 4 to 5 hours with me reinstalling windows from scratch - which I declined.

Again, Romel was most patient & polite BUT my conclusions are

#1. How ludicrous that I should have to spend 2 or 3 days sorting this out on a new machine, & #2 that only 4 or 5 days out of the months warranty, HP refused just to give me my money back. #3 that HP clearly dont really understand these new AI machines sufficiently as not to involve buyers like me having to drop everything & work out their solutions for them.

I completely understand how disheartening this experience has been for you, especially with a new machine that should simply work without days of troubleshooting. You’ve already shown great patience and persistence in working with support, and I appreciate the effort you’ve put in

These requests are best addressed over the phone with our dedicated support team for your region.

Dont know what on earth this strange system is - cannot see any so-called private (???) message might be, clicked on everything in sight - your response is 100% same as everything else HP, totally opaque. Suggest if you really want to send me a mesage , use my email like everyone else on the planet - except, it seems, opaque HP
