I have a 3-year-old OMEN 45l that I have had trouble with from day 1. I have connected HP numerous times over the years, but they never seem to have a clue what ill about this PC. here is what it does when I been playing for and one or two sometimes the screen will go blank showing only the task bar. during this time the fans stop, and all the lights are out like it cliched. then after a few seconds it's back but needs refreshed to bring everything in correctly. Hi @Tacoma22,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your OMEN 45L is experiencing some serious issues. The symptoms you describe—screen blanking out, fans stopping, and lights going out—point to a few potential problems.
- Power Supply Issues: If the power supply is failing or not delivering consistent power, it could cause the PC to shut off and restart. Check if the power supply unit (PSU) is adequate for your system's needs and ensure all connections are secure.
- Overheating: If the system overheats, it might shut down temporarily to cool off. Ensure that your cooling system (fans, liquid coolers) is working correctly and that the inside of the PC is free from dust.
- Driver Problems: Outdated or corrupted drivers, especially graphics drivers, can cause display issues. Make sure all your drivers are up to date, including the GPU drivers.
- Hardware Faults: Faulty hardware, such as the motherboard, GPU, or RAM, might cause these symptoms. Consider running hardware diagnostics to identify any potential faults.
- BIOS Issues: Sometimes BIOS settings or updates can cause instability. Check if there's a BIOS update available or reset your BIOS to default settings.
- Software Conflicts: Certain software or background processes might be causing conflicts. Try running a clean boot to see if the issue persists.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
