Your 400 g2 was licensed for the following OS

  • Windows 8.1 Pro 64*
  • Windows 7 Professional (available through downgrade rights from Windows 8.1 Pro)**
  • Windows 8.1 64*
  • Windows 7 Professional 64***
  • Windows 7 Home Premium 64***
  • Windows 7 Home Basic 64***
  • FreeDOS 2.0

If the original license was for "home" then you can only install windows 10 home.

Here is Micro$ofts explanation

Hi, @Amit4043

Install the Free showkey plus app from the Microsoft Store.

ShowKeyPlus - Microsoft Store Apps

It will show you the OEM Windows product key and the version of Windows the key is good for.

If your PC originally came with Windows, there should be a W8.1 Pro product key in the BIOS.

If you have installed Windows 10 Pro, you need to enter the W8.1 Pro OEM product key from the Showkey plus report to activate Windows.

The next time you have to do this, make it easy on yourself and when you get to the part of the W10 installation that asks for the version of W10 you want to install, select the version of Windows that the OEM product key from the showkey plus report indicated.

Then you will be asked to enter a product key.  Select the 'I don't have a product key' option and W10 should install and activate after you are connected to the internet.
