My new HP ENVY x360 Convertible 15-ed1xxx needs a digital key to activate window (which I am to believe is included) .... error code 0xC004C003 ...I'm unable to find such a key though I've searched verious web sites and this HP site .... The product and id codes (activate windows menu) show as an older windows 10 computer ... Troubleshooter simply re-cycles me back to this same screen ... Being unable to activate windows results in several problems and prevents full use of windows 11 pro ... If someone has a solution, I would appreciate the help and the stress reduction

Hi:

I don't know of any 15-ed1xxx notebooks that came from HP with W11 Pro installed.

They usually come with the Windows Home version installed.

Install and run the free Showkey Plus app from the Microsoft Store.

ShowKeyPlus - Microsoft Store Apps

It should show you an Installed key and an OEM key and the version of Windows the OEM key is good for.

If the OEM key is good for W10/W11 Pro, change the installed key to the OEM key in the BIOS to activate W11.

If the OEM key is good for W10/W11 Home, you will have to buy W11 Pro from the Microsoft Store.

Here's how to upgrade from Home to Pro:

Upgrade Windows Home to Windows Pro - Microsoft Support

If that doesn't work, you will have to contact HP customer service for assistance, since this is a peer-to-peer forum and we don't work for or represent HP.
