Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello everyone,

Bought this PC back in 2015 from BestBuy, worked fine till a few weeks back. Something happens, I don't know what. Now it is telling me that, Windows is not activated. No hardware change. Just regular software update. I have tried running the troubleshooter but it ends giving me an error message. (0xc0000022) It reads, " We can't activate windows right now, try later or go to the store and get a genuine copy... I also try a hard reset and a recovery with no luck. I appreciate any help. Than you!

0xc0000022 error is mostly caused by an access problem triggered either by specific application or by Windows itself. The error can be triggered by the following: files that are corrupted or have accessibility issues. interference with security software.

Try to fix the error by following methods below.

  1. If the 0xc0000022 is trigged by a specific application and you’re able to identify which application was it, check for its permission configuration to make sure they are set correctly.
  2. If the error is caused by a DLL file, you can identify which file triggered this error by installing and running the Process Monitor tool from Microsoft.
  3. Scan your hard disk for potential corrupt files that might trigger the 0xc0000022 error.
  4. You can also try to disable your antivirus software and your firewall software to determine if the error is caused by either a firewall or by an antivirus program.
