Reinstalling Windows on a HP that came with Windows initially installed is not a problem.

If your machine has preinstalled Windows, OEM version, the key will remain with the hardware, and if you install the same version, it will activate automatically.

Hi thanks. Just to be sure. So I need to install win 10 as that's the os it came with, an install should go smooth?

The headers for the thread indicates Windows 11, so are you asking about install Windows 11 (first time) or reinstalling Windows 10?  If reinstalling Windows 10, then there is not issue.  If you are doing an in-place upgrade (from within Windows 10 to Windows 11, still no issue).  If you are doing a clean install of Windows 11 without the Windows 10 install, the I am not sure if that will activate on its own, as the ones I have done did not require the key, as it was automatic.
