My hp stream laptop ( i don’t know if it’s a 10 or 11 because i can’t turn it on)  won’t turn on. I was playing minecraft and i left for no more than five minutes to get water and when i came back it was off i held the power button and the charger light blinked, so i assumed it was dead and i plugged it in and it stopped blinking but it never turned on. Now it Won’t even blink and i don’t know what to do it’s less than a year old but getting close to the year mark. It’s been like this for at LEAST months any tips?

Hi @Alex2211,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing trouble with your HP Stream laptop. Let's try some troubleshooting steps to see if we can resolve the issue.

  • Power source: Ensure that your laptop is properly connected to a power source. Plug in the power adapter and check if the charging light turns on. If it does, leave it connected for a while to make sure the battery is not completely drained.
  • Reset the laptop: Perform a hard reset by disconnecting the power adapter, removing the battery (if it's removable), and holding down the power button for about 15 seconds. Then, reinsert the battery (if applicable) and connect the power adapter to see if it turns on.
  • Check the display: Make sure the screen brightness is not turned down too low. Press the appropriate function key on your keyboard (usually labeled with a sun icon) to increase the brightness. Also, try connecting an external monitor to see if there's any display output.
  • Check for LED indicators: Look for any LED lights on your laptop that indicate its status, such as power, battery, or charging. If these lights are not turning on or blinking, it could indicate a hardware issue.
  • Remove external devices: Disconnect any external devices or peripherals (such as USB devices, printers, or external monitors), and then try turning on the laptop. Sometimes, a faulty external device can prevent the laptop from powering on.
  • Test the power adapter: If possible, try using a different power adapter or charger that is compatible with your HP Stream laptop. A faulty power adapter could be the cause of the problem.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
