Hi @hecc124,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like there might be an issue with the internal connections or components after reassembly. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem.

  • Check Connections: Ensure all internal connections, especially the battery and power button cables, are securely connected.
  • Reset the BIOS: If possible, try performing a BIOS reset. To do this, disconnect the battery and power adapter, then hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds. Reconnect the battery and power adapter, and try turning it on again.
  • Remove External Peripherals: Disconnect any external devices (USB drives, external keyboards, etc.) and try turning on the laptop with just the power adapter connected.
  • Inspect for Damage: Look for any signs of damage to internal components or connectors. Ensure that no screws or parts are loose inside.
  • Test with AC Adapter Only: Try powering the laptop with just the AC adapter connected, without the battery. This can help determine if the battery might be the issue.
  • Check for Error Codes: The flashing lights on the battery and Caps Lock might indicate a specific error code. Refer to the HP support website or the laptop’s manual for information on what these light codes mean.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
