z420
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello every one.  I just got a Z420 renewed and it came with 32g ecc.  I want to max it out to 64g but I need to know the fastest speed it supports. I have to get a keyboard for it and connect to my monitor.  Then take the ssd from my pavilion and put it in the z420 so I can update the drivers. Also where do I get the munts for the ssd?

DDR3-1600 is also known as PC3-12800E or PC3L-12800E (E being ECC, L being Low voltage)

I run 4 x 8GB PC3L-12800E modules in my Z420.

You can get a 2½" to 3½" HDD adapter from any PC shop, ebay, amazon etc.. I'm assuming you still have the plastic housing for the HDD?

The framing for it that connects to the upper bays too?

Yeah, so the 2½ SSD will go into a 3½ metal caddy, then that will 'clip' into the plastic slider-housing. That will then slide into a predefined slit in the HDD / Storage cage.

Is there a certain product number or description to look for them?

The memory sticks are udimm?

All I can find online are the RDIMM not the UDIMM. will that still be ok?

What stinks also is the spec say udimm but the ram that came in my z420 recycled is rdimm.
