Hi @TC275,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you’ve done some thorough checks already. Here are a few additional steps to try to resolve the issue with your keyboard symbols being mixed up:
Verify Keyboard Layout Settings:
- Go to Settings > Time & Language > Language.
- Click on Options next to your current language.
- Under Keyboards, make sure US Keyboard is selected. If not, add it.
Check Input Method:
- Go to Settings > Time & Language > Language.
- Click on Advanced keyboard settings.
- Ensure that Let me use a different input method for each app window is unchecked.
Test with Another User Account:
- Create a new user account on your PC.
- Log in with the new account and see if the keyboard issue persists. This can help determine if the issue is user profile-specific.
Reinstall Keyboard Drivers:
- Go to Device Manager (you can search for it in the Start menu).
- Expand Keyboards, right-click on the wireless keyboard, and select Uninstall device.
- Restart your computer. Windows should automatically reinstall the keyboard drivers.
Check for Interference:
- Make sure there are no other wireless devices nearby that might interfere with the keyboard signal.
Test Keyboard on Another PC:
- If possible, connect the keyboard to another computer to see if the issue persists. This can help identify if the problem is with the keyboard itself.

I hope this helps.
