HP 110 Desktop PC Series
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (32-bit)

I am receiving errors such as “failed to boot”, “please install an operating system on your hard drive”, “3F0 error” etc. I have tried a hard reset, system recovery, etc. Nothing worked. I tried a quick check on the hard drive. The SMART Check passed, but the Short DST failed. Failure ID: GLN3K3-7H89SE-9XJ17G-60WS03. Anything that could help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi, Matt:

The error code reported, Hard Disk 1 Quick Test Failure, means the hard drive needs to be replaced and the operating system reinstalled.

I cannot find any manuals for that model series which show how to remove and replace the hard drive.

After you replace the hard drive, you can reinstall W8.1 for free by downloading the W8.1 64 bit ISO file from the link below.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows8ISO

Use the Microsoft utility that I zipped up and attached below to transfer the ISO file to a DVD or USB flash drive so that it is bootable.

After W8.1 installs, you can install the drivers and available software from your PC's support page.
