OMEN 30L Desktop - GT13-0024

Hello,

I am requesting an update regarding a BIOS/firmware fix for my HP OMEN 30L with motherboard SSID 87C3.

My current system information is:

  • HP OMEN 30L Desktop GT13-0xxx
  • Product Number:
  • Motherboard/BaseBoard: HP 87C3
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
  • Current BIOS: F.32 (03/31/2025)
  • TPM: AMD fTPM 2.0
  • TPM Manufacturer Version: 3.90.0.5
  • OS: Windows 11

AMD identifies TPM firmware versions matching 3.0 as affected by the TPM attestation issue documented in AMD bulletin PA-420. My TPM firmware version 3.90.0.5 falls within that affected range.

My system already has TPM 2.0 enabled, Secure Boot enabled, and is operating in UEFI mode. Clearing or resetting the TPM does not update its firmware. A firmware update from the system/motherboard manufacturer is required.

This is currently preventing my system from satisfying TPM attestation requirements used by games such as Call of Duty, despite the computer otherwise meeting the required security settings.

Could you please confirm:

  1. Is HP actively developing a BIOS update newer than F.32 for motherboard SSID 87C3 that includes updated AMD fTPM firmware?
  2. If so, is there an estimated release date?
  3. Is there currently another official HP firmware package available for SSID 87C3 that resolves AMD PA-420?

Please do not direct me to BIOS packages for other motherboard SSIDs, as my motherboard is specifically 87C3.

Thank you.

Hi:

Unfortunately, your PC is on the list of those where HP does not intend to release a BIOS update for that problem.

I have also confirmed the exact AMD fTPM firmware version installed on my system using the Windows Get-TPM command.

ManufacturerIdTxt: AMD
ManufacturerVersion: 3.90.0.5
ManufacturerVersionFull20: 3.90.0.5

According to the AMD TPM attestation documentation, AMD fTPM firmware matching 3..0. is affected by the attestation issue, while newer firmware branches such as 3..2. and 6...* pass TPM attestation.

My system is running 3.90.0.5, which falls directly into the affected 3..0. category. This explains why TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot both pass, while TPM attestation still fails and reports that a BIOS firmware update is required.

There are currently no newer BIOS updates available for my HP OMEN 30L through HP Support. Is HP able to provide a BIOS/fTPM firmware update that updates the AMD fTPM from 3.90.0.5 to a version that supports TPM attestation?

This issue cannot be resolved by simply enabling TPM or Secure Boot, as both are already enabled and passing their respective checks. I can provide screenshots showing my Get-TPM results and the failed attestation check if needed.
