To update the BIOS on your HP Slim Desktop - S01, follow these steps.
Check Current BIOS Version:
- Restart your computer.
- During startup, press Esc or F10 repeatedly to enter the BIOS setup.
- Look for the BIOS version on the main page and note it down.
Download the BIOS Update:
- Go to the HP Support website.
- Enter your computer’s model number (HP Slim Desktop - S01) and search for it.
- Find the BIOS update under the “Drivers & Downloads” section.
- Download the latest BIOS update available.
Prepare for the Update:
- Ensure your computer is plugged into a reliable power source to prevent it from turning off during the update.
- Close all open applications.
Run the BIOS Update:
- Locate the downloaded BIOS update file (usually an .exe file).
- Double-click the file to start the update process.
- Follow the on-screen instructions. The system may restart several times during the process.
Confirm the Update:
- After the computer restarts, you can re-enter the BIOS setup to confirm that the BIOS version has been updated.
If the BIOS update doesn’t initiate or fails, you might need to troubleshoot potential issues.
- Compatibility: Ensure that the BIOS update is compatible with your specific model.
- Corrupted Download: Re-download the BIOS update file in case it was corrupted during the initial download.
- BIOS Recovery: If the update fails, HP provides a BIOS recovery tool that can be accessed by pressing F2 during startup.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
