Because of a computer problem I got a new one. But among other things I lost the software that Gives me info like ink levels. I can print from my computer and  I can access other function from the printer, but I cannot do so on my computer. I should like to download  these functions so that I can  see ink levels and use other function.

Hi @Jack184, and welcome to HP Support Community!

Thank you for reaching out with your concern. I'm glad to assist you today.

Since you've moved to a new computer and can still print but are missing the HP software that shows ink levels and provides access to other printer functions, you’ll need to reinstall the HP printer software suite that includes the HP Smart app or the Full Feature Software and Drivers.

Here’s how to get everything back up and running:

Option 1: Use HP Smart App (Recommended for Most Users)

The HP Smart app provides ink levels, scanning, printing, and other features.

  • Go to the official HP Smart download page: HP Smart
  • Click Download and install the app.
  • Open HP Smart and add your printer (if not automatically detected).
  • Once added, you’ll see ink levels, scan options, and other tools right from the app.

Option 2: Install Full Feature Software (For Older Models or Advanced Settings)

  1. Visit the HP Support site: Official HP® Support
  2. Enter your printer model (e.g., HP DeskJet 2700, OfficeJet Pro 8625, etc.).
  3. Select your operating system if prompted.
  4. Download and install the Full Feature Software and Drivers package.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete setup.

Tips

  • After installation, restart your computer to ensure all features are available.
  • If you use HP Instant Ink, the HP Smart app will also show subscription and cartridge status.

If the suggestions helped solve the problem, please let us know by clicking “Accepted Solution.” It really helps fellow users find quick answers.

A quick “Yes” also goes a long way in showing appreciation!

Take care and happy computing!

Best regards,

Max3Aj
