HP Elite Mini 800 G9 Desktop PC (4B435AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Dear all,

I needed to give back to HP my HP G9 800 Mini desktop as it had a fan problem.

I would like to know what is the best method to "clean" 100% the SSD and/ or the desktop so there is no more of my data.

So far, what I did was:

Step 1 - redo a "reset this PC" & "clean the drive" using the Windows Recovery / Reset Menu option. Option Deleting everything checked. Until I got the menu to select my geography, keyboard etc ...

Step 2 - Do a HP Secure Erase from the Bios Menu

Note: at the end of the Reset phase, in Step 1, a message appeared that it cannot delete the TPM because the TXT was enabled in the Bios. What I did (but after Step 2!!), was to go to the Bios, uncheck the TXT and went to the TPM in Bios menu to "clear the TPM".

I read somewhere it's better to clear the TPM from Windows OS options. I do not know why....Do you know why? Or clearing the TPM from bios is good enough?

Do you think those steps 1 and 2 are enough or is there something else to do to make sure all my data are erased?

Thank you for your feedback,

Best,

Nestor
