Subject: AMD fTPM attestation failure — motherboard 8906, BIOS F.40 — requesting firmware fix

Hello HP Support,

My HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop fails the Call of Duty Secure Attestation check with “BIOS Firmware Update Required,” even though TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot both pass.

My system details:

  • Model: HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-2003w

  • Product number: 328J0AA#ABA

  • Motherboard ID: 8906

  • Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G

  • Installed BIOS: AMI F.40, dated April 8, 2026

  • TPM manufacturer: AMD

  • TPM manufacturer firmware version: 3.94.0.5

  • TPM specification: 2.0

  • Operating system: Windows 11 Home

  • BIOS mode: UEFI

  • Secure Boot: On

  • TPM status: Ready for use

AMD advisory PA-420 identifies AMD fTPM versions matching 3..0. as affected by TPM attestation failures. My version, 3.94.0.5, matches this range

Activision also identifies this firmware range as requiring an update.

I checked HP’s download page for my product. The matching motherboard 8906 BIOS listed is F.40 Rev.A, which is already installed. The separate Firmware section lists SSD updates, with no TPM update shown.

Please confirm:

  1. Is a corrected BIOS or TPM firmware update available for motherboard 8906 that addresses AMD PA-420?

  2. If available, what is the exact HP download/package number?

  3. If no fix is available, is one planned, or has HP decided not to provide one for this model?

Please escalate this case to the BIOS/firmware team if needed. Enabling TPM or Secure Boot again would not address the issue, as both are already enabled and pass the game’s checks.

I have attached screenshots of my system information, TPM firmware version, attestation results, and the BIOS downloads offered.

Unfortunately, according to this document from HP, they will not be releasing a BIOS update for the PC model series listed in that document to fix the AMD fTPM firmware attestation issue, which includes the HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop PC TG01-2xxxa model series.
