Screen says bios recovery files cannot be found or have been currupted

bios recover files are stored in the HP recovery partition but yes, they can be corrupted or missing especially if the drive was replaced.

 

Please provide the Product ID or Model name for better assistance. Preferably the full product ID including the characters after the # symbol.

check warranty and call for repair info:

If not in warranty then do steps 1, 2 and the first part of step 3 in the below instructions

If the above does not work then use a 16gb or larger flash drive and download the previous BIOS

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp149001-149500/sp149171.exe

Use a USB that has an LED so you can see if the bios is being installed.

follow instructions to run sp149171 to create the USB flash recovery

it is explained in the second part of step 3 where it say

"Recover the BIOS using a USB recovery drive"
