Hi:

The HP Elite 7300 Series MT was one of the few HP business class PC's for which a BIOS update was never released by HP.

No BIOS updates are listed on the support page.

The PC comes with the Intel H67 chipset (Chicago) motherboard.

No BIOS updates were ever released by HP for the Chicago motherboard.

@Paul_Tikkanen,

Please allow me to humor you for a moment.

If I am wrong -so be it, pray tell.

Since the OP's HP Elite 7300 Microtower PC (LH021EA) is fitted with the "IPISB-CH2" motherboard: Intel LGA1155 DDR3 with p/n: 656599-001 "System board (motherboard) - With Intel H67 chipset (Chicago)" (623913-002), and since an HP Pavilion HPE h8-1100it Desktop PC (QD609EA) happens to be fitted with the same motherboard (see: https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer/?searchtext=QD609EA&searchby=product), you can find an IPISB-CH2 ("Chicago") motherboard BIOS download here: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-pavilion-hpe-h8-1100-desktop-pc-series/model/5172904:

Admittedly, not ideal. But I have tinkered long enough with legacy HP systems to know that sometimes one has to, well, reach outside the proverbial box.

Kind Regards,

@Paul_Tikkanen,

Yes, I hope so too.

@I99,

Look, let's review your situation.  As I interpret it -please correct me if I got it wrong: you need a BIOS download in order to make your HP Elite 7300 Microtower PC work, meaning, your desktop is dead in the water either because your BIOS is missing or otherwise corrupted/non-functional.  Is this a correct representation of the facts?

Because if this is correct, you got nothing to lose by downloading and running the aforementioned BIOS.  Either it works -which I believe should be the case, or it does nothing, but at least you tried to resurrect your PC to functionality.

Kind Regards,

Hi, @NonSequitur777

It may be very possible that the HP Pro 7300 was shipped with BIOS v7.12 from the factory which would explain why there are no BIOS update files of any kind for it on the support page.

This is not the only PC where folks have asked for BIOS updates for that motherboard only to not find any newer than 7.12.

"bios update for HP Elite 7300 Series MT" does not provide us much information to go on.
