HP ENVY x360 m Convertible
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I have a ENVY x360 Convertible laptop.

The screen will only turn on in flashes, but it never gets past the starting logo, recently I got to a blue screen with a restart button on it, when I tried to click it the screen went black.

The power button and the camera button with a yellow light keep flashing for 10 seconds at a time repeatedly, I tried multiple times to shut down the computer by pressing the power button for 15, 30, and 60 seconds, it made no difference. It just stopped flashing, I believe the battery ran out. If anyone could help me that would be great.

@moorman -- how old is the computer?

If it is only a few weeks old, take it back to the store that sold it to you, and get them to exchange it.

If is less than one month old, you have free telephone-based support from HP.

If it is less than one year old, exercise the HP Warranty to get HP to repair/replace it, at their expense.

If it is more than one year old, you have a choice of paying HP to repair it, or paying a local computer technician to trouble-shoot & repair it.

You're getting information that is misleading ...

First of all, it is not a simple matter to contact HP in the US.  HP does not provide links for phone support in the US because of Scammers that were harvesting those numbers, calling customers, and charging them money for services they did not need.

To get a phone number, you have to go to the HP site listed below, create a support case, and after that, HP will provide contact information, possibly including a phone number. That link is not going to let you create a support ticket if your warranty has expired -- because HP does not provide phone support outside of the warranty period.

US contact link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp

Second, HP does NOT do post-warranty repairs on PCs as they are not a general purpose repair facility.

So if your warranty has expired since you then can NOT get HP contact info, and they would not fix it anyway, HP repair is not an option.  Instead, you would have to hunt down a laptop repair facility and have them look at this.

So, are you indicating that if you purchase an HP computer, then the documents that come with the computer will NOT tell the purchaser that there exists free first-30-days telephone-support, citing the telephone-number, and none of the documents will mention the existence of the one-year HP Warranty, and none of the documents will have marketing information to promote the purchase of an extended HP Warranty, to cover additional years?

Would the purchaser expect just a "5-steps-5-minute" warranty, after buying the computer? Doubtful.

@itsmyname

I don't know what documents come with an HP device as the ones I have are all several years old and I no longer have the stuff that came with them.

I'm referencing HP policy -- as they have suspended the posting of phone numbers in the U.S. I mention this limitation in this forum because folks post here expecting us to provide phone number -- and we are prohibited from doing that.  I used to provide a page that listed number for each state, and that was taken down.

We here have no say over this or any influence on it.  I complained bitterly when I heard about this -- but my comments mean nothing.
