Blocked Files in File Explorer

All of a sudden I have many “blocked” files in File Explorer.  They have what looks to be a small brown box in the bottom left of the file icon and I cannot open them.  How do I retrieve these files?

I wish I could tell you what was done prior to this happening but cannot.   These are older files that are blocked and I can open any new files just fine.

Ok, I don't use one drive, but these are files on the computer, or on the one drive site, I don't see it here!
But when you say they are blocked, there is nothing you can do, where there is an error message
