HP EliteDesk 800 G1 Small Form Factor PC

I have successfully installed Qualcomm Atheros Bluetooth (v. 10.0.1.0 Rev.A) and Broadcom Bluetooth (v 12.0.1.850 Rev.A) but I do not see any Bluetooth icon on my device manager. All I see is the name of the dongle under USB devices as shown in the picture

What am I doing wrong, can you help me?

Actually there is 🤔 a BT icon

and the connectivity is working.

The problem was initially adressed to MS because basically I am facing the problem decribed on this post

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/phone-link-app-does-not-see-the-bluetooth/6f0c...

It was at this point that the MS representative prompted me to install the drivers mentioned above, and in case where the BT device manager category is not appearing, initiate a query with HP.

Provided that the dongle itself is working and on its documentation there is no mention that a BT device manager category will be visible after having installed the drivers,  I drive myself to the conclusion that the problem is on MS' side and I will get back to them.

Once more, tons of thanks for your time

This link indicates you have to install the manufacturers driver (BRLink).

You can't use the drivers from your PC's support page.

Those are for Wi-Fi/Bluetooth adapters that HP would have supplied with the PC if it came with that option and are completely useless for the BT 5.1 device you have installed.

I can't find any drivers for that adapter other than from 3rd party driver websites.

Paul, thanks for your time and effort and all the help you provided.

The drivers of the dongle are already installed and I was prompted by a Microsoft agent to contact HP so as to discover why the BT icon is not appearing on my device's manager.

The problem I am facing will be again addressed to Microsoft...

You're very welcome.

Yes, I don't understand it either because if the BT driver is installed, there should be a BT device manager category, but it has nothing to do with the PC itself.

And I assume, no Bluetooth icon in the system tray on the right side of the taskbar?

I have never used that model USB BT adapter, so unfortunately, I don't know how to troubleshoot it.

I have used several different brand BT adapters, and they worked without any problems as long as either Windows installed a driver, or I did.

You may want to try a different model BT adapter.

Anytime.

The drivers you tried to install are for two different model HP combination Wi-Fi/Bluetooth 4.0 Mini PCIe internal adapters--an Atheros one and a Broadcom one.

As I posted earlier, they would not be of any use to the USB Wi-Fi adapter you installed.
