I recently went from the stock Ryzen 5 to a Ryzen 7 5800X CPU. I updated my bios to get my computer to turn on again but I got a cooling fan error. My CPU fan is running at a constant speed now, but the BIOS shows 0 rpm for the CPU fan. I have looked everywhere and fan tests just fail. I can't figure out why the motherboard isn't talking to the CPU fan or how I can fix it.

Welcome to the HP Forum.
Please provide a specific product number or model to check your PC's MB specs.
It is possible your MB may not support a 5800X CPU. The 5800X has a 105 watt TDP. Your MB may be limited to 65 watt CPUs.
I should have carefully read your post. You can get into the BIOS.
Are you using a different CPU cooler with the 5800X? Can you try the HP fan with the new cooler if you changed the cooler? EDIT: Check the MB for a pump header if you did a CPU liquid cooler. Some Omen MBs may have this header.
I have seen some HP MBs where you get a fan error at startup when using a different fan. Are you getting normal fan RPMs or is the fan freaking out?
Try resetting the BIOS to defaults or you could pull the CR2032 MB battery for a few minutes to reset CMOS.
