Just discovered my built-in camera was "disconnected" for the second time. Not sure why this problem has occurred since it was working for me the last few days. I tried every step that HP has provided but none of the solutions has worked out for me, not to mention when I have uninstalled both cameras (5MP and IR) and scanned for hardware changes they don't show up anymore. When I manually search for the camera drivers myself, the list is blank. How do I get it back?
The camera app displays the error as 0xA00F4244<NoCamerasAreAttached> and the device manager displays the error as a code 45 error.

Hi @GRIMM_,
Thank you for the response.
Try these steps:
Verify Camera Connection:
- Code 45 generally implies that a hardware device is disconnected. If possible, check the physical connections within the laptop to ensure there is no loose wiring or hardware disconnect.
Enable Camera in BIOS:
- Sometimes, the camera might be disabled or not detected due to BIOS settings:
- Restart your laptop and repeatedly press "Esc" or "F10" (depending on your model) to enter Setup Utility.
- Check for camera settings within BIOS and ensure it is enabled.
Check Windows Privacy Settings:
- Windows may have privacy settings that block camera access:
- Go to "Settings" > "Privacy" > "Camera".
- Make sure that "Allow apps to access your camera" is turned on.
Run Hardware & Devices Troubleshooter:
- Use the built-in troubleshooter to find issues:
- Go to "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Troubleshoot".
- Run the 'Hardware and Devices' troubleshooter.
Reinstall Drivers from HP Support:
- Given that the Device Manager is not detecting the camera, try reinstalling the drivers manually:
- Go to HP Support, find your product, and download the latest camera drivers.
Check for Windows Updates:
- Ensure your system is fully up-to-date which might contain critical updates for hardware:
- Go to "Settings" > "Update & Security" > "Windows Update" and check for updates.
Restore System:
- Consider using system restore to revert back to a point when the camera was working.
- Go to "Control Panel" > "Recovery" > "Open System Restore" and follow instructions.
I hope this helps.
